Even though he loves this game more than life itself, sometimes he can't help but wish that the tables were turned, that he got to watch Takeshi smacking out hit after hit, dandling their baby on his knee, trading jokes and passionate umpire-criticism with Yamamoto-Senior. In a parallel universe their roles are reversed, he's sure; and he's equally sure that he has no regrets. Like he hopes Takeshi doesn't.
He really has regrets against this umpire though, what a dick. It's a matter of professional pride that Tajima's eye is never wrong; he'll happily admit a mistake, but that was way out. Still, at least now he knows where the ump's tendencies lie and he can work within that. It's just frustrating not to be able to do his job.
The left fielder gets his attention and he confirms the tentative suspicion by blowing his husband a kiss and briefly pulling his uniform overshirt open. It's pretty bad form, but how awesome is his undershirt with YUU ♥s TAKESHI in red glitter?!
Hanai's groans are probably audible from the stands, but he's always been a total killjoy. )
